Probably the last Air Spans I’m adding to the collection for now, these Nike Air Span II Solar Red are another take on an OG colorway!
These replace the original Hot Coral color with Solar Red for a subtly more pink-ish tone on the accents.
I view this colorway as basically a white, grey and black colorway. As long as you don’t wear something that clashes with the solar red hits, your fit should look ok. I can see either black or grey pants with a grey top working well or some light denim and a white top with a grey layer over (hoodie, coat etc).
I think with this colorway I’ve completed all the OG colorway “retros”. It seems like they made subtle changes to all the colorways they brought back, but for the most part I’m stoked I get to own them! I highly recommend swooping up a pair of Air Spans in any colorway for that obscure runner flair in the collection.
How Are The Materials?
The materials on these are ok. They’re basically the same as other Air Spans I’ve reviewed. Some ok leather and felt “suede” cover the upper, making these passable quality-wise. There are some glue stains around the midsole but nothing super noticeable unless right up close. Overall I would give these a B- in materials.
How Do They Fit?
These Nike Air Span II Solar Red fit true to size and are fairly comfortable. The shape of the shoe is a little wide and flat so these are still wearable even a bit snug. I did do a little toebox reshaping but the shape on the kicks is still decent right out of the box.
